Online Visa Application

Last updated: 11.05.2011 // Apply for visa and permits for Norway online.

Anyone applying for visa or permit (residence, work, study, etc) to Norway can now register the application and book appointment online through the Application Portal. However, it will still be possible to hand in paper applications, but those who apply online will be given priority.

How to get started and what to do:

1.      Please register your online application and book appointment at the Application Portal Norway: https://selfservice.udi.no

2.      Secondly, please refer to the Embassy webpage for detailed information regarding which supporting documents to bring: http://www.norway.mw/Embassy/visa/

Please note that all applicants, irrespective of online registrations and booked appointments, must provide full supporting documents for their applications. Applicants who fail to do so will be asked to book a new appointment.

3.   After you have submitted the online application, booked your appointment and provided all supporting documents, we will be pleased to welcome you to the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Lilongwe to submit the necessary supporting documents, and provide biometric data.

We would also like to bring your attention to the fact that all the above mentioned application types are included in our new electronic case processing system. The processing time is expected to be shorter for electronic cases.

Can we assist you in any way?

When we have seen the originals, they will be returned to you. The only original we keep is the guarantee form from the reference in Norway. We will return a copy of page three with an Embassy stamp if your visa is granted.

The applicant him- or herself must be present at the Embassy on the day of the appointment.

All applications for stays longer than 90 days (visas) – permits – will be scanned and sent electronically to UDI for processing.
