Visa

If you are planning to visit Norway and return to your home country before 90 days you can apply for a Schengen visa.

If you are planning to stay for a longer period, you may apply for a residence permit or a study permit.

Processing Time for Visa: One week after handing in Application with the necessary documentation.

Visa Requirements:
•  Applications and collection are to be done in person
•  Leave of absence letter from employer
•  If you are a student, please bring a letter from your school
•  Passport valid for all countries, and valid for at least 6 months after your return
•  Letter of invitation from person/organisation in country of destination
•  Proof of accommodation, proof of funds or letter of sponsorships
•  Proof of international health insurance valid throughout the territory of Schengen. The minimum coverage shall be Euro 30 000,-. A copy of the policy, showing the name of the insured, policy number, the coverage amount and the period covered, will be require.
•  proof of return air ticket
•  One passport photograph with light background
•  If not holder of Malawian passport then proof of Malawi residence permit

 

Cost

From August 2009 fees for Visa are as follows:

The equivalent of EUR 60 in MKW  for visa upto 30 days,

Visa upto 31 – 90 days (Single entry) and

for Visa upto 31 – 90 days (Multiple entry)

These are the current fee for visa and are subject to change.

Until 1 January 2008, the visa fee for nationals of Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, FYR of Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine will still be EUR 35.

The fees for First time applications form resident permit and application for family reunion fee is NOK 3.000 (MWK 77.150,-)

 

Work/study Permit, renewal of resident permit or family reunion is NOK 1.100 (MWK 28.300,-)

 

Children under 18 years of age - No charge
