Meet Celine, the new intern at the Royal Norwegian Embassy

Last updated: 29.04.2016 // From June to December 2016, Celine Fjellbakk Amatucci will be the student intern at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Lilongwe. She considers the internship as a unique opportunity to learn about the Embassy’s work and to understand Malawi’s potentials and challenges.

Every six months, the Royal Norwegian Embassy to Malawi welcomes a Norwegian student to its offices in City Centre, Lilongwe. A student internship at the Embassy enables motivated students to familiarise themselves with daily life in the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, with development work in practice, and with the beautiful country and warm people of Malawi.

Celine holds a Bachelor Degree in Development Studies with specialization in administration and organizational science from the University of Bergen. From June to December 2016, she will put her skills and knowledge into practice by contributing to the diverse work at the Embassy, as well as get the experience of working in an international environment. She particularly looks forward to engage in the main areas of the development cooperation between Malawi and Norway. “Malawi’s vulnerability to climate change and poverty implicate the country’s biggest economic sector, agriculture, which leads to food insecurity; I’m looking forward to work within a context that seeks to address these issues”, she says.

In addition to learn about development cooperation at country level, Celine is looking forward to get to know the people in Malawi, and learn more about Malawi’s culture.
